In these troubled economic times, we are all looking for the best deal for everything that we buy, be it car insurance, electrical items, even flights and holidays - but we are always worried that we may miss a bargain or worse still be “ripped off” by unscrupulous traders.

Car insurance comparison sites have become established by allowing customers (you, me and every other car driver in the country!) to enter all of our personal details, details of any claims and minor traffic offences you may have been convicted of - and then providing these details to many providers, allowing you to make an informed choice about the minefield that is car insurance cover.

The beauty of the car insurance comparison sites is that once you have completed this information it is retained on the system for future requests and is easily amended as required.  Although there are many car insurance comparison sites now available it still isn't obvious which ones are the most successful or provide the best chance for us to get a decent car insurance deal.

The power of television advertising and companies utilising a large marketing budget means that we are forever bombarded with images and sounds that soon become part of our every day lives.  Sure enough, when the time comes for us to need the service (and all car drivers do at some stage!) the likelihood is that we will remember the following “big four” car insurance comparison sites.
